DAUPHIN  October 26,2010 – Conservative candidate Robert Sopuck kicked off his by-election campaign this weekend with a successful event at his campaign headquarters in Dauphin.  Over 50 people came out to show their support for the Stephen Harper candidate.

“I am honoured to be the Conservative candidate for Dauphin-Swan River-Marquette,” said Sopuck. “I am reminded as I travel throughout this constituency of why I want to be your representative in Ottawa. We have diverse and vibrant communities where innovative people work hard to support a unique and important way of life. I am a passionate advocate for our rural communities and will work very hard to earn the respect of the people of this riding.”

“Our people want a Member of Parliament who will focus on their priorities,” said Sopuck, “Such as defending our way of life, strengthening the economy, supporting tourism, helping agriculture and our resource industries, getting tough on crime, and creating jobs.  I want to be a part of the Harper government and I am looking forward to getting out and meeting as many people as possible to discuss issues that are important to them.”

The by-election started on October 24 with election day falling on November 29th.
